Why we started a Non-Profit organization?
CLIMATE CHANGE AND DEFORESTATION
An increased impact of the climate change started affecting millions of people around the Planet. The trees are cut by the people and destroyed by the wildfires. Forests disappear as a result of uncontrolled deforestation and fires, and the rate of reforestation is significantly lower than the rate of their disappearance.
The soil is also subject to erosion and subsequent flooding of the territories after the rainfalls partially due to the lack of trees. The lack of forests affects the wildlife and the whole ecosystems are dying as a result of the above.
That is why the decision was made to form an organization which will be dealing with the tree planting in order to decrease the negative impact of the climate change. We donated by ourselves first and we want to make it simple for everyone.
Trees can also provide food for the local communities.
The majority of the trees we plant are the fruit trees which is also fighting the food shortage problem and keep an interest of communities to the trees which are planted.

Since I first heard the idea to create “I-PLANT” I immediately thought I should join and develop this organization and its great team. I believe the future is in our hands and we can try to do whatever we can to stop deforestation and to start growing the forests and educating the local communities so that they are aware how important it is to support the ecosystems and their sustainable development. I believe that in case we combine the interests of all stakeholders (ecosystems, local communities, government and business) we can achieve our goals to prevent the loss of forests and ecosystems on the Earth.

Environmental Expert
I heard first about “I-PLANT” from Sarah Ndaula. She asked me to join the organization as an environmental expert. I have been working in this field for many years and have the appropriate education, so this idea seemed attractive to me and I decided to join “I-PLANT” and now I am providing the consultancies to the team on the ecological issues.
Why Tanzania
We have chosen Tanzania due to the following reasons:
- it is located in the equatorial zone with a relative stable climate even nowadays
- it has a huge territory and thus the different climatic zones available for simple tree planting throughout the year
- there are many areas protected by the the government
- Tanzania has a long season for planting of the trees
